Show CATHEDRAL NOTES. J ; Altar Boy. The altar boys will hold a meeting on Sunday morning: at 9:30 o'clock, immediately imme-diately after the 9 o'clock mass. This meeting and all meetings until the dedication ded-ication are most important, ajid all the boys must be in attendance. No more boys will be added to the list, and those who do not attend all the meetings will not be permitted, to assist in the services serv-ices on Aug. 15. This decision is imperative, im-perative, as the boys have been repeat-J repeat-J edly requested to attend meetings. j The Cathedral Choir. , The members of the Cathedral choir are working hard on the music for the glorious event, the dedication of the grand new Cathedral. The musical program pro-gram is the best, and sixty picked voices will sing, among them being the finest singers in the city. The rehearsals are held every Monday and Friday night at 8 o'clock, while the altos and sopranos so-pranos meet Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Only those who attend re- i hearsals regularly will be permitted to sing. While many are anxious to sing, they are not careful about rehearsal, and it must be understood right now that while there is much talent in the city, Melbas and Carusos are not in evidence. ev-idence. The reason the world has a Mel-ba Mel-ba and a Caruso is because Melba and Caruso understood the value of private practice and faithful rehearsal, so any "artietos" who imagine they can come into the Cathedral choir the last two j weeks will receive, to use a slangy but j forcible expression, a severe "jolt," one that will quickly and effectively relieve any painful swelling of the head, termed by a leading jurist, an "exaggerated "exag-gerated ego." : , The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. F. O. McFall was baptized last Sunday by 1 Rev. Father W. K. Ryan. The little j one was named Dennis Norton McFall, j and the sponsors were Miss Nora Glea- iron and Francis Free. Mrs. McFall will be rrmembered as Miss Margaret Free, assistant organist of the St. Cecilia Ce-cilia choir. During the summer months the 11 o'clock mass will be a low mass. The other masses are as usual at 8 and 9, with Vespers and Benediction at 730 in the evening.
