Are your little boy's fingers all bandaged ban-daged and gory? Is his toy cannon dumb? Is his nose out of plumb? Can't he be held in check till the great day shall come? Oh, say, is your kid patriotic and brave, With the tetanus germ luring him toward to-ward the grave? Do the neighbors ' complain as they groan in their beds, That the crackers he shoots wakes them up every morning? Do they say that the pain permeating their heads Is caused by your kid? Have they given him worning? Is he up with the lark gunning for a good mark? Does he bang cannon crackers from daylight till dark? Oh, say, do the neighbors in wild accents ac-cents rave, In -the hopes that a bomb lays him low in the grave? Are the haystacks intact standing out in the lot?
