Show Celebrates Birthday. Mrs. Justina Tranklo. a Colorado pioneer and prominently Mcntifieu in the building up of Catholic societies in this slate, celebrated her eightieth birthday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Felix Theis. 1750 Pennsylvania avenue, last Tuesday night. Members of the Christian Mothers and Pioneer Ladies Aid societies were the guests of honor." Mrs. Trankle has been a member of the former society for over two score of years and took a prominent part in the organization of the latter, of which she is now a charter char-ter member. The house was beautifully decorated with palms and flowers, and the music mu-sic was furnished by a leading orchestra or-chestra of this city. Mrs. Trankle. aided by her daughter, Mrs. Theis. her daughter-in-law, Mrs. John Trankle. and another daughter, Mrs. J. B. Swift of Cripple Creek, received re-ceived the guests during the reception hours of 2 to 6. Mrs. Trankle was one of the earliest Catholic settlers in Colorado, coming to this stale when but 22 years of age from Germany, where she was born Sept. 24. 124. She is the mother of tl tee daushters and one son. all born and residing in Denver. They are: Mrs. Felix Theis. Mrs. Conrad Schneider. Mis. J. B. Swift and John Trankle. Mrs. Trankle lives in St. Elizabeths parish and is one of. the oldest members mem-bers of that congregation. |
