Show Students in Typewriting Contest. The students of the business depart ment of the Latter-day Saints university univer-sity were participants in a typewriting contest Thursday and Friday. For the winner of the most points in the contest con-test a gold medal was offered by the local branch of a Pocatello typewriter company. Leo Hamilton was awarded the medal. . Q A heavy penalty was made for every mistake made by the contestants. Few mistakes were made, although from fifty to sixty-five words a minute were common during the contest. The cne-minute contest was won by Vivian Snow with a record of sixty-words. sixty-words. The medal was offered for competition by a wFII known typewriter company and was given the L. D. S. college. In the competition mistakes were heavily j penalized, which necessitated accuracy accura-cy as well as speed. . Mr. Hamilton's record was fifty-two words per minute. Intermountain Republican.
