Show LIVING ON THE TOURIST. In one of his interesting letters from Rome, the Tier. D. S. Phelan of St. Louis says; "The Italian cities are all growing; but the vast majority of the people live off tho tourist." This recalls the reply made to us by a Floridian some years ago, when the only product on the farm Ave could see was the "razor-backed" hog that was as fleet as the wildest mountain deer. "Don't you raise anything in this region?" we inquired. in-quired. "Xaw," in contempt, was the answer. "Xo cereals, no vegetablesof any kind?" we persisted. "Xaw," he repeated, this time with growled scorn. "Then what on earth do you livo onl" we again asked.
