At Loughrea Lough-rea the town was illuminated, and there was a torchlight procession to welcome him. f At a meeting of the County Limerick Evicted Tenants' association on Saturday Satur-day a series of resolutions was parsed declaring that the landlords and the government were to blame for not reinstating re-instating the evicted tenants, and also that no class would suffer more by an interruption of national unity than the evicted tenants. Wednesday night a married-woman named Margaret Wilson, resil'ng at 37 Bloomfield avenue, Belfast, drank something out of a cup, and shortly afterward she became seriously til. Her son, a lad of 19 years, proceeded for a doctor, but the' services of the latter proved of no avail. The woman passed away, and, death, is supposed to be due to poisoning. Rev. Father Gaynor, C. M., Cork, in his second lecture on Irish music, before be-fore the Cork Gaelic league, said Dr. Joyce had an important collection of Irish airs Ftill unpublished, and suggested sug-gested that the Gaelic league should invite him to publish them, and give such guarantees towards the cost of publication as they could afford. C, for alleged al-leged street betting. Some time ago Thomas Condon, quay foreman in the employment of Messrs. R and H. Hall. Ltd.. made a gallant effort to save life on the South Jetties, Cork, and his brave conduct won the recognition of the coroner and jury. His employers have since presented him with a watch and chain. Bishop Foley is the wise counselor, the admonishing spiritual head who keenly feels the responsibilities placed upon him. As a bishop he watches with tender care over the spiritual needs of his people; as a man he is ever on guard to direct and advise all who. approach him when care and trouble trou-ble face them; as a citizen of the republic re-public he ki behind no one in the duties of good citizenship and loyal patriotism.
