Show Be Clean. The most robust and. enduring race on earth today are the Japanese, and every Japanese of high or low degree has his daily all-over wash. Hot water, wa-ter, ;-oap and a scrubbing brush, applied ap-plied briskly at least twice a week are required to dissolve away the effete ef-fete skin flakes and remove the clothing cloth-ing lint which chokes the mouths of our skin pores. A rinse in cold water afterward prevents taking cold. Ton hear of people claiming to have good health who boast that they do not bathe themselves regularly or often. Well they are not agreeable persons! for one with an acute perception of i odors to live in the same house with; that's all. It is not a pleasant matter mat-ter to speak of. but it is absolutely necessary -for every person at least to wash thoroughly neck, chest, shoulders and under the arms every day. The day's underwear must not be worn at night. Bedding. blankets, cloaks, overcoats over-coats and woolen garments must be aired, beaten and sunned frequently. Live sv eet and clean in mind and body and be beautiful. Hold the spine straight, the chin up, your htels against the wall. Then the more nearly the backs of your legs and your spine all the way up, including the back of your neck, can come to touching the wall the mor nearly you will be standing in the correct position and the one to cultivate culti-vate habitually. Holding the chin in and the back straight are the essential essen-tial to the free action of the great nerves that go out from the spinal cord. Sit square upon your hips and on no account let the spine be cramped. Finally, walk from the hips, not from the knees. |
