Show j BUTTE, MONT. j An excellent entertainment is to be given by the members of the Robert Emmet Literary association at Hiber-nia Hiber-nia hall. Centerville, March 1. in honor of the anniversary of the birth of Robert Rob-ert Emmet, one of Ireland's greatest heroes. For the first time in the history histo-ry of the association a program will be given which will be composed largely of selections in Gaelic. J. E. O'Rourke will be chairman. The program will be as follows: Part One Address in Gaelic, Gael-ic, J. P. Moriarity; quartet, Miss Harrington, Har-rington, Miss Kelly and Mrs. O'Harry; recitation, T. F. Meagher's Appeal to Ireland. E. Cavagan; song, "She Is Far From the Land." Jack Stewart; song in Gaelic, Miss M. Lyden and children of the Gaelic league; oration on Robert Rob-ert Emmet, Rev. Father M. Hannan; song, "Who Fears to Speak of Ninety-Eight?" Ninety-Eight?" William Powers; so'ng in Gaelic, J, Sullivan. Part Two Violin solo, Mr. MacNamara; song in Gaelic, Miss C. Cronin: recitation. "Kelly, Burke & Shea." Miss Imilda Kelly; address. ad-dress. Judge J. J. Lynch; song, James Murphy; song in Gaelic, Mrs. J. H. Residents of Meaderville had an opportunity op-portunity Sunday evening to attend one of the most enjoyable entertainments entertain-ments given there lor a long time. The affair took piaCr in "the"' school hall of the Holy Savior parochial school, and was participated in by some of Mea-derville's Mea-derville's most talented singers, mu-I mu-I sicians and elocutionists. A prominent feature of the entertainment was the singing by the Italian Choral society, which is one of the best known organizations organi-zations of the kind in this part of the state. A number of dudIIs attending the school also took part in the affair. af-fair. It was given under the auspices or iiojy savior pansn. Mrs. Mary Furlong Hennessy filed her bond as administratriz of the estate es-tate of Daniel J. Hennessy, and also as guardian of Margaret, Daniel J. and Paul Kirby Hennessy, with the clerk of the court Monday. The bond as administratrix ad-ministratrix is Jl. 800,000. and as guardian guard-ian $6,000. A surety company issued the bonds in each instance. Yesterday morning, after solemn requiem re-quiem mass, the body of little Joe McCarthy, Mc-Carthy, the newsboys' mayor, was laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery, his body being accompanied from the church to the graveyard by a cortege of over a hundred newsboys, his companions com-panions In life. At Sacred Heart church, where the congregation had gathered to hear the mass, Father Lcshner conducted the impressive Catholic service for the dead, and Father Morris conducted the service ser-vice at the grave. After the mass. Father Fath-er Leshner made a few remarks to the congregation relative to the merits of the child who had died after distinguishing distin-guishing himself by his devotion to duty and his leadership over his fellows. The pallbearers were members of the newsboys club. The boys formed a procession of honor, which accompanied the funeral as far as Montana street, and from there' the boys were taken to the cemetery in a special car. The fellow fel-low members of the club were impressed by the funeral of their comrade, and in demeanor showed their respect for his memory. The Q. T. club met at the home of Mrs. H. O'Neil on last Monday night. In attendance were: Mrs. Riddle, Mrs. Tebo, Mrs. Raff. Mrs. Griffith, Mrs. Lindsay, Mrs. Green. Mrs. Hartwell. Mrs. Coulter, Mrs. Clara. McNeel. Mrs. Bowdan, Mrs. Gillis. Mrs. H. O'Neil. The club will meet at the home of Mrs. Coulter on Monday. |
