Show 7 GRAND JUNCTION, COLO. ! i ! (Special Correspondence.) The opera house has been quite bright with attractions in the past ten days. Several good shows and as many polit-' ical speeches have been seen and heard. Joseph Hunter, representing the great Scribner's magazine, was in town last week. He left over the narrow gauge for Montrose and other points. E. R. Sims, salesman for the Sweet Candy company, returned last Sunday night from a long trip through Route county. Mrs. James Cosgrove entertained at dinner on last Sunday "The Two Johns," after which they gave several good selections of Irish airs on the piccolo and bagpipes. Her guests were Mr. and Mrs. George Lander and Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Sims. The two Johns left on delayed No. 3 for Provo and other Utah points. We are sorry to note that Dan Mil-lian Mil-lian has been on the sick list for several sev-eral weeks. His place as usher in St. Joseph's church is filled by E. A. Ryan. It is to be hoped that Dan will soon be able to perform his church duty soon. There was a large attendance at all masses on the feast of All Saints and All Souls. Quite a number received the sacraments. The work on St. Joseph's church has been somewhat delayed, owing to lack of material. The trains are trying to get back on their usual time again after many weeks of poor service. Mrs. J. Moss left for her home in Ogden but is expected back soon. |
