Show Thanksgiving Day at Kearns St ! Ann's Orphanage. j Thanksgiving Day was observed at Kearns' St. Ann's orphanage in a variety va-riety of ways. The first duty of the day was to assemble in the chapel, liear mass, and thank the good Lord for the manifold' blessings receivedp daily. Father- Engester, chaplain,' spoke encouragingly to the little ones, and told them how grateful they should lie for the many blessings bestowed on them by Providence.' ' After the services all partook of a good warm breakfast, which served as an appetizer for the turkey dinner. At the noon hour no more beautiful picture could be presented than that of 170 children, all cheerful.. happy and healthy, seated around the tables and smiling at the grand dinner which was served by the Sisters. ' Mr. and Mrs. David Keith supplied, not only enough, but a superb abundance of the very best to be obtained in the market. The order was: "There "must be no limit." And there was not. Like the multiplication multipli-cation of the loaves and fishes, after all had all they could eat, enough remained re-mained to provide another turkey meal. During the afternoon candy, supplied by Mrs. M. H. Kirvin. was distributed. The whole day was a continual con-tinual succession of merriment and unexpected un-expected surprises for the little ones. Their appreciation and gratitude are the silent rewards o the generous flo-nors flo-nors who contributed to their happiness happi-ness , ; ; ; i |
