Show St. Valentine Concert. Something new in the way of musical entertainment was given at the Salt Lake theatre Friday evening, when C. D. Schettler presented a class of between be-tween fifty and sixty young men and women, members of the Salt Lake mandolin man-dolin and guitar club, in a Spanish festival fes-tival concert. A good sized audience, made up in good part of the friends and relatives of the performers, was attracted at-tracted to the theatre and gave expression ex-pression of their approval by frequent and generous applause. The entertainment was given under the management of Fred C. Graham, and bids fair to be a regular annual musical feature in the future. Incidentally Inci-dentally it may be said that Mr. Schettler Schet-tler demonstrated ability as a concert conductor that was especially gratifying gratify-ing to his many friends in the community, commu-nity, t Miss Edna Evans, Horace S. Ensign, Miss Margery Mulvey, Miss Myrtle Goggle, Gog-gle, Walter Smith and Willie Stafford were the soloists of the evening. All acquitted themselves with credit, but Miss Mulvey must be mentioned as the star performer. Her work, particularly in the second number, was exquisite. She Is certainly a finished young artist on the mandolin. She is also an accomplished ac-complished pianist and harpist. |
