Show I RENO, NEV. j Father Tubman of Reno has started a movement for the appointment of an arbitration committee to settle the present labor troubles there, and it looks as though his plan will meet with success. At the present time building in the city is practically tied up and a settlement of the differences would mean much. The plan as conceived by Father Tubman Is to have a board of arbitration, arbitra-tion, consisting of two members of organized or-ganized labor, two members of the employers' em-ployers' association and a chairman appointed by the president of the uni versity. This arbitration board will have the power to hear the arguments of the respective parties on all disputes which arise between employers and employes and render a decision after hearing the evidence and considering it. The decision of the board will be rendered at an open conference of the representatives of labor and capital and, if agreeable, will be adopted, and if not agreeable will be amended until it is agreeable to both sides. The one stipulation is that the decision of the board must be acceptable to the interested inter-ested parties. Exchange. |
