Show OGDEN". Musical Examinations a Feature at Sacred Heart Academy. (Correspondence Intermountain Catholic.) Examinations in vocal and instrumental instru-mental music were held from 1 to 2 each day of the last week of January. They closed with a brilliant programme by the advanced classes. While all the pupils did creditable work, there were some who did so exceptionally ex-ceptionally well, that they surpassed their teachers' expectations. As a result re-sult many received .100 per cent and several were advanced a grade. The vocal pupils are equally to be commended for thorough work. For the first time in many years Rev. Father Cushnahan is taking a much-needed much-needed vacation. Though he is missed in Ogden at every turn, jet all are rejoicing re-joicing that he is having a respite from duty, and are hoping that his brief sojourn in California will prove restful and beneficial. . J Rev. Father Cushnahan has returned from California. Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Luckett returned last weeS from a visit to California. Rev. Father Sheehan returned to Salt Lake last week after spending the past two weeks here, having charge of St. Joseph during the absence of Rev. Father Cushnahan Mrs. F. J. Shirk are en- I tertaining a number of their relatives from Illinois. 9 The Ladies' Auxiliary to the Brotherhood Brother-hood pf Railway Trainmen gave a'card party and social Wednesday evening of last week at K. of P. hall.' These ladies la-dies are always hostesses of the most enjoyable parties imaginable, but they surprised themselves in their success of Wednesday evening. A large party ! thoroughly enjoyed the evening's amusements, ; Tuesday evening of last week the ladies of the Degree of Honor of the A. O. U. W.. gave their annual ball at the DIgnan dancing academy. In spite of the disagreeable weather there was a large attendance and the evening passed away all too quickly. The hall was tastefully decorated for the oc-cation oc-cation and everything ' w-as done to make the affair the most enjoyable of any of the annual balls. In this the ladies succeeded admirably, for the guests all enjoyed a most delightful evening. |
