Show Obituary. Smith. Mrs. Charles Smith, the woman whose husband was said to have neglected her so shamefully, and whose case attracted attract-ed the attention and sympathy of a number of charitable people, died at 1 o'clock Monday, morning at the Holy Cross hospital from cancer. Her daughter was with her and the end came peacefully. Mrs. Smith's last days were made as comfortable as possible by a generous public and through the efforts of those who took part in the musical benefit given under the direction direc-tion of Miss Nora Gleason at the Salt Lake theatre. The unfortunate woman suffered for many months and death was a merciful release. . Cummings. Many Salt Lake friends will be grieved to learn of the death of Mr?. Esther Cummings. mother of Mrs. E. O. Lee, Mrs. S. V. Trent and Miss Roxy Cummings. .which occurred Monday morning at the home of Mrs. Lee, 1269 East South Temple street. Mrs. Cummings Cum-mings had reached the advanced age of 75 years, and had been in feeble health ever since coming to Utah a little lit-tle more than four- years ago.
