Denver, Sept. 3. Rt. Rev. Bishop Matz paid his annual visit to Boulder laat Sunday. There will be a mass meeting of the Cathedral parishoners at Logan avenue ave-nue chapel next Sunday. S Father Duffy baptized little Francis McDonall at Logan avenue chapel last Sunday. The Altar and Rosary society held a very important meeting last Sunday. The Catholic Knights, en masse, attended at-tended the 7 o'clock Mass in Logan avenue chapel on Labor day, which was specially offered for them by Rev. Father Phillips. Rev. Hugh McMenamin, who but a few months ago was elevated to the dignity of the priesthood, arrived in Denver last Saturday. The7:30 Mass at the downtown hall was said by him on Sunday. On Wednesday Father McMenamin departed for Colorado Springs, where he will assist Rev. Father Bender in caring for his large flock. Rev. Father O'Brien, pastor of the Harmon church has returned from a delightful visit to his old home in Ireland. Ire-land. Rt. Rev. Bishop Cunningham of Kansas Kan-sas is still a guest at St. Joseph's hospital. hos-pital. . A picnic for the benefit of St- John the Evangelist's church was held at Chute's park on Labor day. Rev. Father McDonald of Kentucky has been appointed temporary chaplain of Mt. Olivet cemetery., Rev. Father Zemp was a visitor at the Cathedral rectory this week. Father Fath-er Zemp has been Father Bender's assistant as-sistant at Colorado Springs for some time, but finding our Colorado climate detrimental to his health, is about to make Detroit his field of labor. Mrs. Mary Magdalena Seimer was buried from the Annunciation church last Monday. Ladies of the T. C. B. A. attended the funeral in a body. Interment In-terment at Mount Olivet cemetery. Mr. Thomas J. Leavy of North Denver Den-ver has returned from a pleasant visit in Leadville. The Loung Ladies' Sodality of the Cathedral parish will go to Holy Communion Com-munion at the 7 o'clock Mass next Sunday. Messrs. John and Tom Curtain of North Denver left this week to resume their studies at St. Mary's college, Kansas. There will be a picnic at Elitch's Gardens Sept. 13, for the benefit of St. Leo's church. Mrs. J. K. Mullen and daughters, who have spent the summer on the Atlantic At-lantic coast, will return in the near future, with the exception of Miss Edith, who will remain at Manhattan-ville Manhattan-ville at the Academy of the Sacred Heart. Mrs. Bela Hughes is dangerously ill. A pound party for the benefit of St. Vincent's orphan asylum was held at the residence of Mrs. John Murphy, 1137 Washington avenue, last Tuesday afternoon. ' Miss Frances Fulham is sojourning in Maintou. Dr. and Mrs. T. J. Carlin of Denver spent last week in Manitou. t - Mrs. O. B. Spencer and sister, Mrs. Walter Allen, are spending some time at Cassells. Mrs.' J. D. Fanning of the Albany hotel visited at Cassell's last week. The Misses Gottesleben have returned re-turned from the mountains. Mrs. M. E. Youngblodt and her daughter, Mrs. J. A. McGuire, have returned from Estes park. A disratch from New York states that Rev. T. H. Malone has arrived there in safety. Before returning to Denver he will go to Waterloo, N. Y.. where his sister. Mrs. J. J. Ryan of Denver, is visiting. Agnes Marie Pili was baptised at St. Elizabeth's church last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Currigan acted as sponsors. - The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. James O'Drain was buried in Mount Olivet cemetery last Monday. The funeral of little Frances Riordan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Riordan, Rior-dan, was held last Monday afternoon. Interment Calvary cemetery. Ambrose, the little two-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hickey, was buried in Mt. Olivet cemetery last Monday afternoon. 6 Saturday at 8 p. m. the marriage of Peter Kasper and Annie Hulda Schreiver was celebrated at St. Elizabeth's Eliza-beth's church, corner Eleventh and Curtis streets', Rev. Father Francis officiating. The church was handsomely handsome-ly decorated and was filled with a large audience of friends of the contracting con-tracting parties. The Knights of St. John, of which the groom was a member, mem-ber, conducted the wedding party to the altar. -i Mr. P. J. McEnery, the clothier of Larimer and Twenty-fifth streets, has gone to New York and Chicago on a business trio. A fair for the benefit of St. Clara's Orphanage will be held in St. Elizabeth's Eliza-beth's school hall Sept. 25 to 29. President Presi-dent of the fair, Mrs. F. J.
