The Queen's Dauphters society has every reason to be proud of its efforts n Saturday last in the collections made for the Saturday and Sunday Hospital association. The banner booth iii the entire city of Denver was presided over by the Queen's Daughters, Daugh-ters, and in just six places the young vomen were to be found, begging in tlie cause of the sick poor. The Saturday and Sunday Hospital association work is non-sectarian in character, but being thoroughly charitable, cha-ritable, the movement has interested philanthropic workers of every denomination. denom-ination. The money raised annually cn the Saturday and Sunday following Thanksgiving day is apportioned among the hospitals of Denver, and every dollar of it means a day of care for the indigent sick. The Queen's Daughters collected just $743.56 in the six booths apportioned to them. The largest amount was collected collect-ed at the Equitable building, where the returns showed $316.70. The second largest amount received was at the Albany Al-bany hotel, where $138.50 was raised. The other booths in charge of the young women were at the Golden Eagle, Ea-gle, the Mack block, the Cooper build-itig build-itig and the Joslin dry goods store. Father Joseph P. Carrtgan had charge of the court house and the city hall, and the Catholic young women helped him at both places, making good returns. Monsignor Robinson III. Retreat at Cathedral. The exercises of the retreat now being conducted by Rev. Father Mc-Menamin Mc-Menamin for the young women of the Cathedral parish are being snlendfdly attended. The sermons all tending to promote a love for the Blessed Virgin and a desire to emulate her pious and virtuous life, have so far been not only j instructive, but entertaining. The re treat will close on Sunday, the feast of the Immaculate Coneeption , when doubtless all the young women of the parish will receive Holy Communion.
