Show SMOOT SPEAKS AT F. S. CONCLAVE Apostle Reed Smoot of the quo rum of Twelve and Frank Ward of the church welfare committee were on hand Sunday to give in- 1 structions and advice to members of the Frankln stake at their regular reg-ular Quarterly conference at the stake tabenacle. Elder Smoot gave Inspiring talks at both morning and after noon sessions as did Mr. Ward. High stake officials also gave interesting in-teresting addresses during the ses- ; sions. Elder Smoot, speaking on the church welfare program, said this movement had advertised the church more than any other of the ! church pogams, adding that all the high chunch leaders endorsed the project. Elder Ward, In his morning session speech, said the program Is symbolic of the church holding an umbrella over the nation." He continued that J when the government would call on the people to help that the ; church would know the skills and i .capacity of its members because of information already gathered through operation of the program. In the afternoon Elder Smoot ' spoke on the subject of service to t God, country, church, and family. Elder Ward explained the succesb ... of the budget system in a family. The conference Sunday morning .. wa opened by President L. V. - Marrlll who said, that it ths mem-brt mem-brt lived the .commandments of i God they would De blessed and protacted as has been promised. J Other morning speakers were Barton Bar-ton Bowden and Martha Geddes, returned missionaries; Supt. It. F. it Campbell, and H. R. Bingham.. t Opening prayer was L. L.
