Show Preston High Registration Data Listed NEW TEACHERS NUMBER FIVE New Classes Given; Fees For Each Department Listed Horlarfd Simmons, - principal of the Preston Senior high school, announced this week that five new teachers had been signed to teach in the local high school for the year 1940-41. William Craner from the University Uni-versity of Idaho will replace Yale Holland, who has accepted a position posi-tion at Twin Falls, in the agricul ture department; Bessie Dillon from the University of Minnesota will replace Alta Hirst in the homemaking department; Carl Evans from the University of Idaho Ida-ho will replace Harold Handley, who goes to the Weber Junior college, in the commercial department; depart-ment; Cora Harbison from Montana Mon-tana Slate college will replace Miss Eldora Peterson, who was married during the summer, in the girls physical - education depart.' ment; and Stephen Lundquist from the Brigham Young university will replace Harold Christensen, who goes to the Granite school district in Salt Lake, in the music depart ment. . The other teachers who taught last year and who will continue teaching at Preston High are J. Neff Boothe, English and journalism; journal-ism; Dowe Byington, agriculture; Oretta Carlson, librarian; J. C. Forsgren, history; Edwin Hirscni, mathematics; Agnes Howe, English; Eng-lish; Joe Johnson, physical education; educa-tion; L. H. Larson, science; W. H. Simmons, history; Mary Turner, commercial; Dorothy Wakley, English; Bruce Wallace, science; Doris Bennett, homemaking; Sam Fletcher, art; E. P. Spilsbury, foreign for-eign languages; Ernest Eberhard, seminary; and Alvin Harris, seminary. semi-nary. Mr. Simmons also announced that class schedules are now prepared pre-pared and can be obtained at the high school. New classes to be taught this year include beginning band, beginning orchestra, Spanish and Business Eglish. Instructions for registration procedure pro-cedure will be given at an assembly assem-bly Tuesday morning, September 3 at 9 a. m. in the new auditorium for all prospective senior high school students. A list of the fees in the various departments for 1940-41 follows: Student body card, $3.75; chemistry, chem-istry, $1.00; physics, 25c; biology, $1.00; homemaking 1, n, III, $1.00; shop I, II, $1.00; agriculture and shop, $1.50; speech I, II, 60c ; heredity, here-dity, 50c; typewriting, $1.25; office practice, $1.25; U. S. history, $1.50; band, $1.00; journalism, $1;' class dues, 25c; and late registration registra-tion fee 50c. |
