October 13, 1941 The Board of County Commissioners Com-missioners met this day in regular session for the month of October, 1041, t!ie chairman, Henry II. Raw-lings, Raw-lings, Commissioners A. B. Xash and frank Shrives, and the Clerk, C. L. Swenson were present. Mrs. William Allen met with the Board and applied for assistance The matter was referred to Commissioner Com-missioner Xash and Mr. Joe Smith of the Department of Public Assistance As-sistance for investigation. Mrs. Mae Rigby applied for assistance as-sistance in repairing a bridge located on her property. It was agreed that Commissioner Shrives would investigate the matter and make recommendations. Mr. Ernest Gayman applied for additional assistance. The matter was taken under advisement. Messrs. Martin and Wells made application for an increase in salaries. salar-ies. Mr. Chesncy Sorensen met with the Board in regards, to weed project pro-ject work throughout the county and in the matter of obtaining a burner. Mr. Asa Hebdon met with the Board in regards to assistance The matter was taken under advisement. ad-visement. Dr. Whelan discussed the matter of Bangs disease control work throughout the county. Mr. Burdett Griffith applied for a reduction in valuation and also of delinquent taxes. He, was asked to obtain some definite information as to the value of his poperty and the amount of delinquent taxes and to take the matter up with the Board in its' next regular meet-in meet-in sr. Mr. Alec Poole applied for additional addi-tional assistance from the County. The matter was referred to the Department De-partment of Public Assistance. The quarterly report of salaries submitted by the County Auditor was duly approved and signed. The matter of the adjustment of taxes in the district where hail had destroyed the corps was discussed. The matter was taken up at the convention of County Commissioners Commission-ers at Coeur d'Alene and discussed with a repesentative of the Attorney Attor-ney General's office at Boise, and the Commissioners were advised that an adjustment could not be made, there not being any provision provis-ion in the law allowing for such an occasion. The tax exemption application of William E. Hansen was ordered j filed and kept lor reference for the next Board of Equalization meeting. The following bills were approved approv-ed and ordered paid. A letter from Miller & Viele in regard to 160 acres of land known as the Oliverson tax deed property, proper-ty, asking that the Board of County Coun-ty Commissioners set a minimum price was discussed. It was agreed that the land would be investigated in-vestigated and a minimum price placed thereon. The bid of Clarence Kofoed for $60 for 40 acres of tax deed property prop-erty in Section 33, Townhip 15 South, Range 38 EBM was refused at thi3 time The Commissioners agreed to view the property and set a minimum price. The contract for the County Audit for 1941-42 with Mr. Warren Vickrey, C. P. A., was duly approved ap-proved and signed. Tho bid, of Mr. Archie Peterson of ?35 for the Julia Melchi tax deed property was refused. The Board agreed to set a minimum price within a short time. Cancellations of taxes on property pro-perty were made as follows, for the reasons indicated : Property in the name of Ephriam Bosworth in Sections 11, 13, and 12, Township 13 South, Range 39 EBM, because of sale of tax deed property. |
