Show CHRISTMAS CANTATA PLANNED BY P. H. S. The Preston High School's contribution con-tribution to the festive Noel season sea-son this year will be in the form of a Christmas Cantata which the boys and girls have been working on diligently for the past several weeks. The program will be outstanding with Christmas music sung by the combined fifty-five voices in the Acapella Choir and a lovely string orchestra of twenty-five members all under the personal direction of music supervisor, Stephen J. Lund-quist. Lund-quist. To date the Cantata has been scheduled for performance in the following wards: 4th Ward, 2nd Ward, 3rd Ward, Fairview Ward, Linrose Ward, and it will also be presented to the student body of Preston High School in their Christmas assembly program. Solo work will again be presented present-ed in groups this year thus giving more of the fine singers an opportunity oppor-tunity to perform. The solists selected se-lected are: Coy Christeusen, Iva Lou Smith and Beth Nuffer; Billy K. Hurd, Blaine Wilson and Dan Campbell; Nelda Spackman, Blanche Blan-che Wilson, Joyce Swainston, Edith Bodily and Carol Bingham; Erveen Rawlings, Lorrain Smith and Barbara Smith; Richard Cordon, Cord-on, Russell Hull, LaVar Thompson, Keith Bergquit and Merle Golight-ley. Golight-ley. The orchestra will accompany the chorus on several of the numbers, num-bers, plus performing with several numbers of their own selection. Roma Beckstead has been chosen as violin soloist to accompany the two-part ladies' chorus. Beth Smith will be the concert master for the evening. , Three pianists accompanying the orchestra in this year's work and also playing for the 'Cantata are; Hal Campbell, Barbara Smith, and Donna Rawlings.
