Show One Week To Go On Farm Defense Sign-up For IQ42 Farmers May Sign Planning Sheets . At Farm Bureau Only one week remains for Franklin Fran-klin County farmers to reach the 1U0 percent goal set for signing up 1942 Farm Defense Program plan sheets, R. W. Geddes, chairman chair-man of the county USDA Defense Board, warned today. A check in the County office shows that approximately So percent per-cent of the farmers have signed to date. This 'leaves 20 percent or about 250 farmers who must yet sign before the closing date in order for the county to reach the proposed goal. Sign-up work, carried on in conjunction con-junction with the annual AAA Farm plan sign-up usually held in the spring by community AAA committeemen, is progressing in the county. Representatives of agencies of the Department of Agriculture Agri-culture which operate in the coun ty, are assisting with the work of surveying- intentions of farmers in the county to produce foods in 1942 that are vital to national defense. de-fense.
