Still, the enterprise is not impossible by any means, and with its propector's Known ability and push there no question that it will be an accomplished fact in near future. hat the enterprise will be a paying one there can be no question, Today with all the available teams in commission hauling ore, the output of the mines Is cireumscribe d and many tons of ore are being piled upon the dumps or stored In bins and drifts for the lack of the means of transportation. This congested condition will be aggravated as the months go by. "The best hopes of all the miners entire people go with Mr. Crowther in his endeavors in the direction of this most needed improvement.' MAKES rhein Butlen MacNamara Days. The Douglas mine in early days, together with the Bluestone adjoining it, which is now owned and operated by Captain DeLamar, shipped bluestone to Virginia City to be used in the reduction of the silver ores coming from the Comstock lode. Copper values at that time were not considered of uch moment and it is only lately, in fact, during the last two years, that attention has been turned to these properties with a view to the development of them as copper properties pure and simple. Such development work as has been done up o date on the Douglas mine shows there is a tremendous deposit of high grade carbon ores, available for easy cheap extraction and running sulphides as depth Is attained. There seems to have been the general eruptive copper solution which has come up through the fissures and at fissures, thoroughly mineralizin the entire lime area and being Mites in the fissures themselves. One tunnel has been run on the Douglas in a continuous fissure carTying -ore all the way and varying in width from ten to thirty feet for distance of 240 feet.
