Show Most Popular H. S. Gridder To Be Named Selection of the most popular football player on the 1940 grid squad of the Preston high school Indians was underway here this week with the announcement of the Clarion-Grand Theatre "Most Popular Player" straw vote. Player being selected in the balloting bal-loting will be presented a 14-inch "Knute Rochne" trophy during the showing of the famous "Knute Rochne All American" film on November 24-25-26. Any playerj on the Preston team is eligible to win the balloting which, it was pointed out by Theatre The-atre Manager Ray Taylor, should be based on popularity and sportsmanship, sports-manship, rather than entirely on ability. A ballot box will be placed in the lobby of the Grant Theatre from November 11 to 24th. The ballot to be found in this Issue and each following issue of the Clarion may be used as an, official ballot, or additional ballots may be obtained wKh each ticket to the Grand. Ballots will be issued at the theatre ticket office. Presentation of the beautiful football trophy will be made on the stage of the theatre on one of the evenings of the showing of the football picture of the year, starring star-ring Pat O'Brien as "Knute Rochne, Roch-ne, All American." n n |
