Show JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL TO HOLD "GOOD BOOKS" ASSEMBLY Believing that information atout America is the surest way to combat com-bat sinister influences, the Preston Junior high school will hear Donna Jean Hansen and Dorothy Greaves discuss "What Americanism Means to Me" and "What Is Our Junior High Doing to Develop Good Citizenship?" Citi-zenship?" in an education and book assembly November 13, at 11 a. m As the first introduction to the many new books the school library has the Preston Junior High Library Li-brary Books, Inc., distributors of I. Q. (Interest Quotient) books, will present "Good Bocks Good Friends" for the student body. Martin Johnson, famed explorer and photographer; Nicodemous; Nurse Sue E.'.rtnn; Cr.de jmn Mooro of West Point; Benjamin Franklin and his good mouse. Amos; Lucimla of Roller Skated grown up: Polly Kent; Joe and Slivers, the North-end Wildcats; Roy Chapman Andrews, director of American Museum of Natural Lis-tory; Lis-tory; Jenny Lind, Winston, and a Navy dive bomber are a few of the "Good Friends" that will be met. In addition to the assembly, home rooms have planned special programs pro-grams for throughout the week. Friends and patrons of ihe school are invited to attend any or all of these functions. |
