Dutton visited visit-ed with Mrs. Dutton's sister in Idaho Ida-ho Falls May 6 and 7. The Orson Rasmussen family has moved into their new house in Oneida. Orson wasn't content to move his old furniture into the new home, so he bought new from a Preston furniture store. Mrs. Rasmussen is all smiles nowadays, because of the new home and new furniture. Orson is the same way, but we suspect It is because his batching days are over. Mr. and Mrs. Charley Erickson spent the week-end in Grace. The Oneida school children attended at-tended the Field Day at Franklin lats Friday, May 8. The Oneida school won first place in a high jump, second place in a 60 yard dash, and third place in a standing broadjump. Week of May 7 VaLeen Kendrick and her mother, moth-er, Carrie Tanner gave the last pinochle party of the season, April 29 at the quarters. Doris Scout and E. E. Sawyer won the first prizes. Erin a Cleveland and Orson Rasmussen were awarded the consolation con-solation prizes. Roy Thomas was the guest of honor at this party. He is leaving Oneida for Salt Lake where where he will work in the company's West Temple substation. The camp employes presented Roy with a nice gift as a token of their esteem. es-teem. Mrs. Alice Cummings with her two children, Bill and Lupe, were guests of the Bahens over the week end. Alice left for work on one of Uncle Sam's defense jobs, Sunday. Sun-day. Bill and Lupe will stay with Grandpa and Grandma Bahen for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. George Hulse of Grace, are visiting in Oneida with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Charley Erickson. Mr. Hulse is recovering from a recent operation. Our school teacher, Josepn rjmout acted as registrar for the Oneida people for their sugar ration books. The unseasonable winter weather weath-er that has recently come to Oneida, Onei-da, ahsn't dampened the spring enthusiasm en-thusiasm of the youngsters. All the camp kids have been undergoing undergo-ing intensive military training under un-der Richard Sawyer, Bobbie Gordon Gor-don and Steve Godfrey. |
