L Janson county director of the National Association of Postmasters states that his association is sponsoring a bill which would benefit seven postmasters In Fourth Class Offices Offices Offices ces In tn this county If the legislation which is now before Congress passes during this session It will increase the salary of postmasters who are now in charge of Fourth Class Offices The present system of paying Fourth Class postmasters according to the stamps cancelled in their offices would be eliminated and the pay would be based upon the re receipts receipts te- te of the office as in practice in post offices with a higher rating proponents of the legislation ex ex- ex There are postmasters of Fourth Class Offices throughout the United States StatE'S which are sometimes sometimes sometimes some some- times referred tp as the corner corn r grocery store post office This TIlls proposed proposed proposed pro pro- posed legislation would slightly Increase in increase increase In- In crease the amount of salaries paid to such postmasters but it is not looked upon as a salary increasing measure At the present time there are of these postmasters who re receive receive re- re cehe less than per year ear for their services Postmaster Janson further states the proposed bill is to simplify the method of accounting and one which the postmasters of this cla class sI s shave have urged Congress to consider I favorably for Cor the past fifty years |
