Show j FRANKLIN FRANKLIN Mrs. Donald Hobbs , was hostess to the Ladies' Literary Liter-ary club at her home Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Marvin Neeley reviewed the book "Alone" by Admiral Ad-miral Richard E. Byrd. Plans for establishing a community librajv here were discussed by the 10 members who were present. A delicious de-licious lunch was served at the close of the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bradford and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Robinson spent Monday in Pocatello. Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Dunkley spent Sunday afternoon and Monday Mon-day in Ogden on business. Among those who attended the Music Festival in Logan Friday were: Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Stokes, Mr. and Mrs. Lavon Wickham, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Woodward, Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Lowe, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Adamson, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Ro-land Parkinson, Mrs. Levor Doney, Mrs. Douglas Oliverson, Mrs. Grant Doney, Mrs. Vernon Oliverson and Gordon Marshall. Strattford Smith directed the band and also acted as a contest judge. Miss Marva Stone was drum majorette and led the March. Special solos and ensembles were given by Marjean Wickham, Shirley Shir-ley Stokes, Richard Butterworth, Calvin Parkinson, Devor Geary, man Jensen, Fern Shnmway, Wayne Doney, Merlyn Durrant, Spencer Parkinson and Betty Bates. Those who attended the Lions' inter-city meet which was held in Downey, Monday night were Mr. and Mrs. Lester D. Lowe, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel R. Handy, Mr. and Mrs. Bartlett Nash, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Rich, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Christenson, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bradford and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Robinson. They received: the membership mem-bership award 'which was given by the Downey club. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Durrant of Ogden were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Abe Whitehead, Sunday. Vinton Merrill, senior advisor and 13 seniors attended Senior Day at the, USAC Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Levi Oliverson and Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Oliverson spent the week-end in Burley as the,' guests of Bishop and Mrs. Earl Oliverson of that city. Mrs. Wilburn Robinson was hostess host-ess to Pinochle club at her home Thursday afternoon. Five members mem-bers were present' and 3 special guests. They were Mrs. Lorin Hampton, Mrs. Ernest Bowcut and Mrs. Vernon Oliverson. High score was awarded to Mrs. Hampton and all-cut to Mrs. Bowcut. Lunch was served at the close of the after noon. Mrs. Veressa Packer and family spent the week-end visiting with friends and relatives in Ogden and Salt Lake City. Mrs. William Smith was hostess to the Contract Bridge club at ner home Monday evening. A delicious lunch was served after which bridge was played. Five members and three special guests were present. pres-ent. They were Mrs. Harold Lowe, Mrs. Alma Hampton and Miss Mary Beatty. High score was awarded to Mrs. Floyd Robinson and guest prize was awarded to Miss Beatty. |
