Show Field ay Evcaatts K&tifln TWELVE SCHOOLS TO ENTER ACTIVITIES Program Planned To Precede Athletic Contests of Day The annual Franklin County Field Cay for the schools of the county will be held Friday, May 16, at Dayton with every indication pointing to a highly successful event. Starting with a program at 10 a. m. in which each participating school will have a part, a full days schedule has been arranged. Field events will begin in the afternoon. Emii Larson of Falrvievr r3 general program chairman, Thatcher Handley of Whitney is chairman of athletic events, and Norman Nelson is chair-of chair-of the speech contest which will be held prior to Field Day. Winner of the speech contest will appear on the morning program of Field Day. Ribbons will be awarded for each of the first three places in the athletic events for both boys and girls, and a trophy may be awarded the team winning the Softball' title. Schools participating include Weston, Dayton, Clifton, Winder, Fnirview. Franklin, Whitney, Riv-erdale, Riv-erdale, Mink Creek, Treasureton, Fifth Ward and Glendale. Events will be for the boys and girls of the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grades and will include the 50 yard dash, high jump, broad jump, standing stand-ing broad jump, baseball throw, relay re-lay races, and the Softball games, o o |
