Show JUNIOR HIGH SCORES OPERETTIC SUCCESS Parents and Preston Junior HigV students were carried away on the good ship "Hispaniola" to "Treasure "Treas-ure Island," on Wednesday afternoon, after-noon, March 12. One hundred and fifteen seventh grade students presented pre-sented the operetta, "Treasure Island" complete with townspeople, pirates, sailors, sailor girls, and natives. Major characters were: Marilou Hawkes, Junior Christensen, Blair Gibbons, Keith Shipley, Delore Walgren, Wendell Hansen, Dwane Crockett, Garth Monson, Shirley Jean Egbert, Carol Cutler, Glen Christensen, Cecil Lloyd and Ross Wilson. Accompanists werey Nola Maugh-an, Maugh-an, Dorothy Tanner and Ondelyn Jensen. Special musical numbers were by Leona Britenbeker, Arlalia Webster Web-ster and Evelyn) Jensen. The music was under the direction direc-tion of Miss Virginia Sant; the dialogue, Eloise Poulter; and dancing, danc-ing, Cora Harbison. Everyone enjoyed the operetta with its effective lighting, bright icharming costumes, colorful setting, set-ting, gay captivating music and graceful dancing. It is the wish of the Junior high to thank the parents for their splendid support and. cooperation. |
