Show ARMY ENLISTEE IS ENTERTAINED HERE, Mr. and Mrs. Gaylord Larson entertained en-tertained at a ramily dinner Thursday Thurs-day evening for Raymond Beck-stead. Beck-stead. Mr. Beckstead, a brother of. Mrs. Larson, left Monday for Boise where he will enlist in the army. Guests at the dinner who were nol members of the family were Mr and Mrs. Spencer C'ondie. Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Spencer C'ondie honored Mr. Beck-stead Beck-stead at a dinner. Fifteen guests were present to honor Mr. Beck-stead. DELPHIANS STUDY HISTORICAL) TOPIC The Theta N'u chapter of the Del-..hian Del-..hian Suoety met in regular meet-,ng meet-,ng Monday afternoon. Mrs. G. C. Kilgore, president, called the meeting meet-ing to order and presided over the short business session. The program, "The Century of Hope, Ends In World War" was introduced in-troduced by the leader for the afternoon, aft-ernoon, Mrs. Harold Hawkes. The following topics were given: Labor Gains and Foreign Entanglements. Mrs. G. C. Kilgore; The Kaca ror World Markets, Mrs. T. Smith Allen; Al-len; Factors in England's Relative Decline, Mrs. Lurry Robinson; The New Imperialism, Mrs. G, W. States; The Empire Builders, and Empire Dividends, Mrs. Llewellyn Jenkins; Through the First Year, Mrs. Farrell N. Beckstead. Contrasts and parallels were given giv-en by Mrs, Ezra Foss, Mrs. Nowlin Hale, Mrs. George Egbert, Mrs. Beckstead, Mrs. Kilgore and Mrs. Thomas Doyle. Following the program, assign ments, were made by Mrs, Kilgore for ushering at the Franklin stake house during Leadership Week. WHITNEY PRIMARY PRESENTS PROGRAM The Whitney ward Primary Trekker Boys presented a very interesting in-teresting program Sunday evening February 23. Guardian of the class, Mrs. Olive Weaver, gave the opening open-ing talk on 'The Trekker Boy." Following Fol-lowing are the speakers and their subjects which made up the program.- Why Nephi was a Great Man, Theron L. S, OPERETTA An excellent crowd was on hand last Friday evening at the high school to enjoy the music department's depart-ment's "Harmony Hall" operatic production under the direction of Stephen Lundquist. Students who appeared in Uu major jolea were Wendell Wiser, Florence McQueen, Ned Stocks, Merlo Gollghtly, Wayne Cole, Margie Mar-gie Tripp, Bonnie Kirk, Nelda Spackman, Edith Baugh, Curtis Clayton, Russell Hull, Anna Harding, Hard-ing, Blaine Wilson and Dan Campbell. Camp-bell. They weru ably supported by the Glee club and members of the St. Cecelia choir. BRIDGE EOUR-SOME Mrs. Ralph Strub was hostess at an Informal luncheon last Wednesday Wednes-day evening, followed by an evening eve-ning of bridge. o o NELSONS ENTERTAIN BRIDGE ASSOCIATES Club associates of Mrs. Earl Nelson Nel-son met at the Nelson home las' Wednesday, evening. Luncheon wai served at seven o'clock at two tables. ta-bles. Score prizes were won by Mrs. Jack Anderson and Mrs. Nowllr Hale. Guests of the club were Mrs. Jack McBeth and Mrs. Ray) Collier. PINOCHLE CLUB AT POAGE HOME Mr. and Mrs. Donald Poage were host and) hostess to- their Pinochle club last Friday evening. Following Follow-ing an evening of pinochle a midnight mid-night supper was served. Mrs. Victor? Christiansen and Orris Or-ris Harmer won high score honors, BRIDGE CLUB MEETS WITH MRS. CUTLER Mrs. Elvin Cutler entertained her bridge associates last Thursday evening. The decorations used at the tables at which a dessert luncheon lunch-eon was served featured the patriotic patrio-tic theme. Mrs. H. B. Sternberg win high score and Mrs. LaMont Aller, low. Mrs. George Egbert was a guest of the club. From Trekker Work, in the Primary, Pri-mary, Lee Whittle. Following these talks the Scrip tural verse was given In unison by the group. Four of the members offered vocal selections during the evening. MISS BIGGS QUEEN OF FIRST WARD BALL Miss Donna Biggs was queen at the First ward Gold and Green ball held recently and her attendants were Evangeline Merrill, Gwen Smith, Mildred Andra and Donna .Mochli. Flower girls were Joan Johnson, Joan Larson and Beverly Bronson. General chairman of the ball was Ezra Foss, assisted, by Walter Barton Bar-ton on the floor show committee. The report published last week was incorrect.
