Show State Worker Attends Roll-Call Tea Saturday Praises Franklin County Chapter Praising highly the efficiency of the Franklin County Red Cross organization, Mrs. Agnes Salmon pf Seattle, Wash., state field work er, instructed local workers in the various fields of voluntary services during a. round table discussion Saturday afternoon in connection with the Red Cross Roll Call workers tea. County Roll Call chairman, Mag gie Preston conducted the afternoon after-noon activities held in the court house where committee chairmen reported on successful completion of various programs. A report was giving on the summer program pro-gram of swimming classes- Mrs A C. Conine dealt with, the knitting knit-ting program and Mrs. Ben Cazier listed items completed in the sew ing project. Announcing that the fall schedule sched-ule for the National Red Cross marks the beginning of knitting for our own soldiers, Mrs. Salmon also stressed the beginning of a new program, that of building up a reserve of, blood plasma for any national emergency. Some work has already been done along this line for foreign needs but donors may now give of this valuable substance as a safeguard against epidemic or actual ac-tual combat needs of this country. Mrs.. Salmon listed the programs included in the national organization organiza-tion thus.- disaster preparedness, home nursing service, blood plasma, plas-ma, medical care with food clothing cloth-ing and shelter upon immediate necessity, braille transcription, youth movement of Red Cross, and hospital recruiting service. Mrs. James Godfrey and Mrs G. L. Wright presided at the afternoon aft-ernoon tea table. o o |
