A delicious luncheon was jervei at seven-thirty at a large tabb which was centered with a loveh bouquet or pink sweet peas. At the evening of bridge tha followed the luncheon, Mrs. Orvid Cutler and Mrs. J. L. Packard won score awards. 1 FAMILY DINNER HELD SUNDAY AT POAGES Mrs. Donald L. Poage entertained Sunday afternoon at a family dinner din-ner at tile Poage home. The occasion occa-sion was in celebration of Mr. Foage's birthday. Covers were laid for sixteen guests. Out-of-town guests were Mrs. Carl Stens of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Harley C. Pierce and Mr. and Mrs C. H. Christcnseu and family all of Salt Lake City. ANNUAL CONVENTION D. U.P. APRIL 8 Franklin County DUP announce the annual convention at Salt Lake City. Utah. The convention will be held in the Lafayette ballroom of the Hotel Utah on April 8 with sessions at ten a. m. and 1:30 p. m. All members are invited to attend. LITERARY CLUB MEETS AT MERRILL'S The Ladies' Literary club met at the home of Mrs. Ray Merrill last Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Allen Cutler gave an inter esting review of the book "Sap-phia" "Sap-phia" by Willa Cafher. Mrs. Gay-lord Gay-lord Larson presented two vocal solos for the enjoyment of the group. Luncheon was served at the close of the afternoon to twenty guests. Miss Beverley entertained the club with piano solos during the luncheon lunch-eon hour. PARTY FRIDAY AT CHRISTENSEN HOME Mr. and Mrs. Victor Christensen entertained Friday evening for club associates. At the evening of pinochle Mrs. Carlj Jones and Orris Harmer won score prizes. A tasty mid-night supper was served to guests at the close of the evening. , GOLDEN HOUR CLUB ,HAS BRIDGE PARTY I Members and guests of the Golden Gol-den Hour club met last Wednesday at a no-hosless party at Merrill's confectionery. Following the luncheon the party I went to the home of Mrs. P. J. Evans for an afternoon o bridge. Mrs. Newell Stevens, Mrs. J. j Neft Boothe, Mrs, H. B. Sternberg and Mrs. Leslie Checketts were guests of the club. Bridge honors were won by Mrs. Paul Merrill and Mrs. Newell Stevens. Ste-vens. CO-IIOSTESSES AT PARTY SATURDAY Mrs. Alvin Carlson and Mrs. Newell Stevens were co-hostcsse:; at an informal evening of pinochle at tile Carlson home Saturday evening. eve-ning. A Dutch lunch was served to guests at eight o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Garrett and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Buttars were winners of score awards. PACKARDS HOLD PINOCHLE PARTY Mr. and Mrs. Jesse L. Packard werei host and hostess for pinochle associates last Saturday evening. Dinner was served at seven-thirty seven-thirty at small tables which were center-pieced with spring flowers. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Olsen and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Malmberg won pinochle honors at the evening eve-ning of pinochle which followed the dinner. BRIDGE .PARTY HELD AT REEVES HOME Mrs. Melvin Reeves entertained Thursday afternoon for club associates. asso-ciates. Following a dainty dessert lunch, the diversion of the afternoon after-noon was bridge with Mrs. Ezra Foss and Mrs. Earl Nelson winning score honors. |
