Show jWest High Wins Forensic Meet Here Saturday West High from Salt, Lake City captured the first place trophy and St. Anthony took second at the annual an-nual Forensic meet in Preston on M.xrcfh 14 and 15. Three Preston students placed for individual awards, placing Preston in fnirth place. The schools finished with these points: West High, 13; St. Anthony, 121; Rexburg, 104; Preston, Pres-ton, 97; Blackfoot, 87; Midway, CO; Montpelier, E4; and Davis High, 37. T. R. Bowden, representing the men's civic clubs of Preston, presented pre-sented the trophies and individual awards to the following first and second place winners; Mary Jane Rich of West High and Leonard Lewis of Rexburg for original oratory: ora-tory: Ray Rigby of Rexburg and Bill Lewis of St. Anthony for impromptu im-promptu speakjng; Blaine Evans of St. Anthony and; Leonard Lewis of Rexburg for extemporaneous speaking: Flora Manning of Preston Pres-ton and diaries, Packman of Black, foot for pantomime;' Lois McAuley of Montpelier and Tom Roberts of Davis for dramatic reading: DeEtta Dunn of Montpelier, Tom Roberts of Davis, and Marilyn Wood of West High (tied for first) and Syble Peterson of Preston for hu-meortis hu-meortis reading;? Blaine Evans and Bill Lewis of St. Anthony and Leonard Lewis-Wilford Anderson of Rexburg and Elaine Anderson-Verna Anderson-Verna Greaves (tied for second) for A division debate, and Scott Bush-riell-Bert Atwater of West and Key Richardson-Margaret Ann Woodruff Wood-ruff of Blackfoot of B division debate. de-bate. o o |
