Show ACHIEVEMENT DAY PROVED TO BE SUCCESSFUL AFFAIR I Two hundred club girls, leaders lead-ers and parents met Monday for county 4-H club achievement exercises ex-ercises at the Smithfield Second ward recreation hall at 1 o'clock. These represented 13 foods clubs and eight clothing clubs which have carried on work during the year in Cache County. Dr. G. Li. Reese, Smithfield, county doctor, Dr. A. C. Peterson, Peter-son, Richmond, Miss Ann Malm-berg, Malm-berg, Miss Edna Hale, Logan, and Mrs. Coleman, Smithfield, nurses, examined the club health j girls of the county. Miss Bonnie I Lewis, Richmond, was given first ! place and the following girls re-j re-j ceived a high score: June Allsop, f Smithfield, Afton Barker, Smith-field, Smith-field, Edris Allen, Cove, and ' Helen Gessel, Providence, i The second year clothing club i of Providence and the fourth ! year clothing club of Smithfield ! were judged for a style dress review, girls complete costume, and cotton school dress. The supervisors in this were club leaders Blanch Fife, LaRee Alder, Providence, Venna Tarbet, and Mrs. Lorraine Snelgrove, Smith-field. Smith-field. Judges were Miss Ruby Harris, Tremonton and Miss Ann Larsen, Newton. They also judged judg-ed the other clothing and the foods exhibits. Joy Roskelley, Smithfield, was given first place for the style dress review, Helen Miles, Smith-field Smith-field first place for complete costume, and Marjorie Merrill, Providence, first . place for cotton cot-ton school dress. I Miss Margaret Egbert, Logan j led the girls in games who were i not participating in the health ' contest or fashion review, and the leaders checked in their record books with the committee in charge. Other winners selected during the day were: first year clothing group exhibit, first place Smith-field, Smith-field, Carma and Erma Hansen, leaders; second place, Cove, Hazel Comish and Bethea Day, leaders; third place. Fourth year clothing, first place, Smith- field, Venna Tarbet and Mrs. Lorraine Helgrove, leaders. First year foods, first place, Providence, Provi-dence, Mrs. Cora Johnson and Mamie Fuhriman, leaders; second sec-ond place. Paradise, Mrs. Esther Shaw and Mrs. Zella S. Howells, leaders, third place. Providence, Dorothy Olsen and Delores Schies leaders. Second year foods, first place. Providence, Mrs. May Anderson An-derson and Norma Rinderknecht, leaders; second place, Providence, Inell Poulson and Bethea Zollinger, Zol-linger, leaders. Ball Brothers group exhibit, first place, fourth year foods club, Smithfield, Mrs. Inez Roskelley, leader. Hazel Atlas group exhibit, first place, fourth year foods club, Smith-field, Smith-field, Mrs. Inez Roskelley, leader. Kerr Glass individual exhibit, Janice Milligan, of Smithfield fourth year foods club. Exhibits winning first place will be sent to the college for a state contest to be held September Septem-ber 18, 19 and 20. All the exhibits ex-hibits entered will be shown at the county fair September 11, 12, and 13. At 2:50 the group assembled for the following program with Miss Eva Beutler, North Logan in charge. Club song, "Dear Old State of Utah," led by Mrs. Christine Frank, Providence; song, Smith-field Smith-field fourth year clothing club; stunt, "The Doctor", Providence second ward club; tap dance, Cove first year clothing club; piano duet. College ward first year clothing club; song, Richmond Rich-mond first year clothing club; stunt. Providence first ward, second sec-ond year foods club. Miss Hale presented the girls entering the health contest and announced the winners. Izola D. Jensen, district extension ex-tension agent, presented charters to leaders of 100 per cent clubs. Langton Barber, Lewiston, county key banker, presented achievement pins to leaders for their club members.
