Show Mosquitoes Killed By Crank Case Oil Mosquito larvae, according to Dr. G. P. Knowlton, associate entomologist en-tomologist of the Utah tSate Agricultural Ag-ricultural college experiment station, sta-tion, can be destroyed by means of used crank case oil. Where irrigation irri-gation water stands in roadside ponds for a week or more at a time, a generaton of mosquitoes may be developed, causing considerable con-siderable annoyance to people living liv-ing near such breeding places. It is suggested that where fish or valuable plants are not present pre-sent in the water, and the use of oil is not otherwise objectionable, that used crank case oil be poured on such ponds to help in abating ihe mosquito nuisance in mosquito breeding ponds. |
