Show CITY CONTROL OF WATERWORKS. Tacoma is experiencing some of the ilia that follow the control of the city water supply by private individuals. A water famine in that city is now impending. And yet there are "patriots" in this city who favor letting the control of the city water pass from the municipality.- Herald. We are told that a few such individuals in-dividuals are also found in Brigham Brig-ham City. Should a private corporation cor-poration get their hands on Brig-ham's Brig-ham's water works they would not only raise the rates, but Would charge the city at least $'2t a year for every one of the dozens of street hydrants. This would run up into the hundreds of dollars each year. Numerous other reasons could be cited why tho city Hlmuld retain control of all such public enterprises. |
