Memphis, Tenn. Three whites and three negroes killed and a score of persons injured, was the known toll of a tornado which swept across the Mississippi river from southeastern Arkansas after demolishing several buildings in the vicinity of lake village, vil-lage, wrecked about twenty-five buildings build-ings in a residential suburb of Greenville, Green-ville, Miss., and played havoc with barns and tenant houses on several plantations In northern Mississippi. Memphis, Tenn. A tornado struck several towns in southern Mississippi and passed northward over Tennessee, leaving its mark principally in the rural sections. Several lives were reported lost at Enid and Greenwood, Miss. Several houses were demolished. Doctors and nurses were sent to the strucken town from Greenville. Vicksburg, Miss. A telephone message mes-sage to the Associated Press fror; Lake Village, Ark., stated that a windstorm wind-storm struck that town about 9 o'clock at night and that two persons were killed and several others injured. A heavy rainfall followed the windstorm. Several houses were blown down. |
