Show Movement Started to Put Boy Scout Work Over Boy Scout work in Gunnison, which has been lagging, is to be stimulated and the officers of the association, together with the citizens cooperating, are determined to put Gunnison on the map for real with a plan that is being worked out. Under a new plan of organization and with a plan for raising the small finance that will be necessary to put over the scout movement in the Gunnison Valley, matters are being shaped anil some real work is to be started. At a meeting of scout executives held at Ephriam last Saturday evening, even-ing, a new plan of organization was perfected at the suggestions of the head of the scout organization of the state. Heretofore Sanpete county has been included in the entire Bryce Canyon council. Through the new plan Sanpete county, while yet 'remaining 're-maining in the principal council, will be in a district of its own. The county coun-ty has been divided into three divisions. divi-sions. North Sanpete is to be known as division one, South Sanpete, as division di-vision two, and the Gunnison Valley as division three. The officers serving serv-ing before the segregation of this county from the other eight, which constituted the -Bryce Canyon council, will still function and will have the same duties as before. The plan was thought most feasible by officers directing di-recting the change and it is believed that with a thorough organization in ! the three districts much better headway head-way can be worked out. The headquarters head-quarters for the division, as well as that of the Bryce Canyon council, will be changed from Richfield and the main offices will be maintained at Los Angeles, Calif. The chairmen for the Mt. Pleasant division, including North Sanpete, is C. W, So'.enson of Mt. Pleasant,. L. R. Anderson of Manti has been named vice-chairman of the South Sanpete district, and J. W. Jones will serve as vice-chairman of the Gunnison Valley division. At an important meeting of the officers of-ficers of this district held Tuesday evening, it was brought out that Gunnison Gun-nison and the surrounding communities communi-ties are in arrears and plans were made to change this standing and get the organization on a firm financial basis. To the end of creating the necessary ne-cessary amount to carry over the work and liquidate the small indebtedness indebted-ness already incurred, the citizens of Gunnison, Centerfield, Axtell, Clarion and Fayette are asking to get back of the finance committee and help in a drive that has been proposed. The city officials, civic clubs, women's clubs, church organizations, business men and farmers will be asked to give to the limit that the one great movement an be put over that the beys seeking the memberships can have the training and scout work that results in making, them 'really fitted for a better utfure. At the meeting Tuesday evening only a few were present to discuss plans and it was brought out that a total of ,$550 will be necessary to meet the present indebtedness and put this division in good standing until July, 927. During next week members oi the committee will visit the various church organizations, the business houses, citizens and clubs. Have your contribution ready, and make it a' healthy one, as a certain amount of the $550 must be ready by the end of the coming week.
