Show "Silver Tea" Is Big Social Success The treasury of the Gunnison Val-ey Val-ey Health center, organized last month for the purpose of promoting better health among children, was substantially enriched at the "silver tea" given at the Wistaria last Saturday Satur-day "afternoon. Through the publicity given the affair patrons from the city and all. parts of the valley were present pres-ent and the first social of the organ-1 ization was a crowning success both j financially and socially. The "tea" was given' for the pur-' pose of raising funds with which to' purchase necessary equipment to con- duct the clinics which are to be held at frequent intervals. A scale for weighing, equipment for the examination examin-ation rooms and other parephernalia is needed to carry on the clinics and j the response given by the ladies of the valley at the Saturday social was j evidence that the movement is to be carried out successfully. It is planned . by the officers and members and all cooperating, to hold gatherings fre- j quently and at times, health subjects, the proper care of children and other topics will be discussed. j The '"silver tea" held Saturday, in , addition to raising funds, was sort of a get-together meeting of mothers. ' Man jongg, "500" and rook were the diversions of the afternoon and dur-; ing the period of playing a short musical program was given. In the contest at the various games prizes were awarded to Mrs. Leslie Kidman, Mrs. J. B. Roper, Mrs. Leonard Anderson, An-derson, Mrs. Ross Palmer, Mrs. Le-. Le-. land J. Arnold, Mrs. Will Vorhecs, Mrs. Frank Taylor, Mrs. Harold Brad-. Brad-. ley, Mrs. Frank Keysor, Mrs. Niel Sorenson and Mrs. J. W. Jones of this eitp, and Mrs. Rose Clemens of American Am-erican Fork. j Following the session at gmes a delicious luncheon was served to fifty-four guests by Mr. and Mrs. Ay-mer Ay-mer Peterson, operators of the Wistaria. |
