Show LOCAL MISSIONARY LEADER HONORED ON ANNIVERSARY Miss Josie Curtis, head of the Presbyterian society in Gunnison, was highly honored Tuesday afternoon after-noon when some sixty or more guests . gathered at the chapel in this city and joined in celebrating her birthday birth-day anniversary. A varied program of song, music and readings occupied a portion of the time, after which light refreshments were served those present. Miss Mary McCallum of . ... Salina and Mrs. Ronald C. Norman of this city, rendered solos; Miss Margaret Mar-garet Tuve of Salina gave a reading, Mrs. R. J. Parr gave a guitar selection selec-tion and a solo by Miss Mary Villard and a song by the Light Bearer's Band comprised the entertainment selections. Mrs. H. W. Cherry, retiring re-tiring president of the Missionary society, and in behalf of the members mem-bers of the Missionary society, presented pre-sented Miss Curtis with a beautiful dress patern as a token of esteem and j respect. Those from outside points attending the function were: Rev. and Mrs. A. V. Boand, Prof, and Mrs. C. L. Johns and Mrs. D. H. Duckering of Mt. ' Pleasant; Mrs. C E West, Mrs. J. R. Evvles, Mrs. Rex Barnard, Mrs. J. F. Barnard, Mrs Hyrum S. Gates, Miss Mary McCallum and Miss Margaret Tuve of Salina, and Mrs. I. N. Parker Park-er of Redmond. |
