Transferred to I. ho Third division of the regular army. Commander Wray was with this outfit in the St. Mihiel and Mom o-Argonne offensives. Here lie received a promotion to a captaincy captain-cy and two dial ions for gallantry In action. After the armistice, the new commander com-mander was with the Army of Occupation. Occupa-tion. Locating at Borryvillc, he began the practice of law. Mr. Wray has been an indefatigable worker in the Legion ever since its organization. or-ganization. Ills comrades in Lloyd Williams post No. 41 at Berryville give him credit for much of the effectiveness ef-fectiveness of Legion work in that community and district. Mr. Wray had just been elected commander of his post when he was elevated to the department conmmn-dershlp. conmmn-dershlp. at the state convention at Staunton. He succeeds his friend nnd college mate, Thomas J. Michio, Jr., of Charlottesville. Commander Wray was born at Martinsville, Mar-tinsville, Ya 34 years ago. He graduated gradu-ated from Martinsville high school and then attended Randolph-Macon college. col-lege. After the completion of ids course there, Mr. Wray began the study of law at the University of Virginia Vir-ginia which he postponed for various and sundry reasons involved iu the events of the stormy days of 1917 1918. |
