Show HORRIBLE TALE OF HUGE FISH STEALING TACKLE The season of fish stories is yet in vogue and will be until the 31st of December. Naturally it is up to the editor to gather in all the interesting ones those that are available. This is the latest. Ira Overfelt, Fren Jones and Harry Roylance all er-perts, er-perts, visited a new place, where it was reported, "big ones" sleep. It was discovered, on the return of the "anglers," that not only big ones infested in-fested the lake, but that the most savage, tackle stealing rainbows known to the world were to be found in this particular lake, which, by the way, is 140 miles from here. All fish stories are true, most people think, and if the tale given by the Gunnison Isaak Waltons is true, some law should be passed to prevent Jish from stealing valuable tackle. Fly after fly were stolen and leaders and lines snapped under the powerful pull of the weighty trout, and no less than sixteen of the monsters are swimming swim-ming in the lake with fancy decorat ed hooks and flies. It is variously estimated that the fish not landed j weighed from six to fifty pounds. Those that were safely marooned on the banks tipped the scale at an av erage of seven pounds. The boys ' got several and in addition succeeded succeed-ed in bogging five fine sage hens on 1 1 their return trip. i |
