Show Year Officers for Local Lions Club At the semi-monthly luncheon meeting of the Gunnison Lions club held at the Gunnison hotel last evening, even-ing, Ira Overfeldt was chosen presi- dent, Leo D. Bardsley, vice-president and Leo Gledhill was named seere-tary-treasurer for the ensuing year. Other officers elected were Dr. Kunz, j liontamer and L. H. Johnson, tail-twister. tail-twister. The board of directors will comprise the officers and N. L. Her-mansen, Her-mansen, Dr. J. A. Hagan, C. M. Ed- wards and Parley Christiansen. J. W. Jones, newly elected district governor for the twenty-eighth district dis-trict was the unanimous choice as delegate to attend the international convention of Loins clubs which con-vens con-vens at San Francisco next July, and Ira Overfeldt was named alternate. The club is planning some entertainments enter-tainments which will be held soon, the j first being a picture show at the Casino. The date is set for June 2nd, and in addition to the picture a spec-' spec-' ial program will be given and it will ' include selections from a quartet, violin solos by Harold Bradsley, vocal solos by Mrs. Emily Knighton and E. L. Swalberg and a quartet. Definite plans have not as yet been completed, but' full announcement will be made later. The matter of the Lions club sponsoring spon-soring a Fourth of July celebration in Gunnison was discussed and Fletcher ; Peterson, L. H. Johnson and F. H. Jones were named as a committee to . confere with the business men relative rela-tive to the celebration and make a report at the next regular meeting. Dr. and Mrs. J. W. Hagan of Spanish Span-ish Fork, spent a few hows here at the home of Dr. and Mrs. J. A. Hagan. The Spanish Fork visitors were enroute to Southern California Where they will spend a few weeks I sightseeing. |
