Show son Drug company, returned Friday from Salt Lake where she attended the annual convention of the Rexall .druggists'. She reports a large at-' at-' tendance at the convention and those present highly enjoyed the programs, Banquets and entertainments. - W. A. Hickenlooper, a former resi-'dent resi-'dent of the valley, came down from bait Lake Tuesday. He was combining combin-ing business with pleasure. Dick Daly, the candy man from Manti, was a business visitor to Gun-aison Gun-aison Monday of this week. Hugh Kearns, with the electric 'power company at Delta, spent last ,aunday visiting with his wife and daughter dau-ghter in this city. He returned to beita Sunday everting. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Overfelt, Eugene Overfelt, and Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Cherry Wesley Cherry, motored to Mt. Pleasant Monday evening and attended at-tended meeting of the Eastern Star Jodge. Kearney Madsen, who reached his fifth birthday anniversary last Friday i celebrated the event by entertaining i twelve little friends at a lawn party. I Games, and romping and a dandy time with a splendid luncheon at five thirty made the event a most enjoyable enjoy-able one. Mr. and Mrs. George Larson spent last Sunday as the guests of friends at Ephrim. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Beck motored to Provo last Sunday for a brief visit vis-it to friends. Returning they spent a few hours at Springville with relatives. rela-tives. Mrs. Paul Streeper, who had been the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. C. Jensen, for the past month returned to her home at Salt Lake Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Holliday Church, who were the guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Clegg at Centerfield, returned to their home at Burley, in Idaho, last (Sunday. Mr. Gwynne Lewis and daughter, f P-osina, left for Salt Lake City this ' morning. Mrs. Lewis, who has been a resident of Gunnison for the past year will reside permanently at the capitol city. LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST Mr. and Mrs. H. Roland Tietjen, ' Bernell and Barbara Tietjen of Monroe, Mon-roe, Dr. and Mrs. F. W. Tuttle, Wallace Wal-lace and Howard Tuttle of Manti, and Mrs. Rubon Clark, Fern and Ru-lon Ru-lon Clark, Jr. of Salt Lake City, were ' guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Beauregard, Beaure-gard, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Julius Duggins were host and hostess at a dinner party to sixteen guests Monday evening. ' Following a delicious dinner mah jongg and solo were enjoyed. In the mah jongg contests honors went to Mrs. S M. Duggins and Mrs. J. A. Hagan. The hostess was assisted by Miss Theresa Duggins and Miss Funice Gremsgard. Mrs. J. W. Jones was hostess to the members of the O. N. O. club last evening. Jeedlecraft and a social time marked the fes.tures of the evening. even-ing. Mrs. G. D. Gibson, m.anager of the Times-News at Nephi, spent Tuesday afternoon in the valley looking after business matters. Mr. Gibsoa, in addition ad-dition to managing the affairs of the Nephi newspaper, is dealing in real estate, and he was looking over some farm lands in this valley. Ernest Halverson, district manager for the Kansas City Life Insurance company, with headquarters at Provo spent several days in Gunnison this week in the interests of his company. Mrs. L. G. Anderson and Mrs. Will Voorhees entertained for the members mem-bers of the Royal Neighbors at the home of Mrs. Ellen Hofheins Tueseday night. The usual business session was had and following caret; were enjoyed. en-joyed. Light refreshments were serv ed at a late hour. Lester Jepson, who has been a sufferer suf-ferer for the past several weeks with broken arches, lft for Sal't Lake, Tues day afternoon. While at the capitol city Mr. Jepson will consult specialists special-ists in the hopes of gaining relief. P. T.
