The snow stake at Clear creek, near Fish creek, registered eighteen inches March 1 and twenty-four inch es March 21. Snow at the ranger station on the divide between Epraim and Emery March 1 had a water content of 7. .'5 inches. While the snow has reached greater depth at present, the moisture moist-ure content is unchanged. There is about eight inches of snow on Mammoth creek, at the head of the Sevier. Careful Use To Avoid Shortage ! Careful use must be made of the water on the Sevier river system if a serious shortage is to be avoided this year, R. E. Caldwell, state engineer, engi-neer, saiil following a meeting with Erice McBride, water commissioner for the Sevier river. Mr. McBride, together with J. Cecil Alter, meteorologist meteor-ologist in charge of the Salt Lake : weather bureau, recently took snow measurements on the watersheds. "The run-off is going to be light," ! Mr. Caldwell said, "and the users j must , curtail reasonably in their own interests." It is estimated that there will be 38,000 acre-feet in the Otter creek reservoir April 1, or the same amount as last year. The supply in the Piute reservoir will be only 55,000 acre-feet April 1 this year, according to present esti-mae, esti-mae, as against 63,400 acre-feet April 1, 1923. The estimate for the Sevier river bridge reservoir April 1 is 186,000 acre-feet. April 1, last year, there were 221,000 acre-feet in the reservoir. res-ervoir.
