Show New Women's Club Planning Activities While the attendance was somewhat some-what smaller than was expected, the special meeting of the newly organized organ-ized Business and Professional Women's Wo-men's club did not lack enthusiasm in the new work and the members there showed real enthusiasm and the work of further organizaton was carried car-ried out. A committee consisting of Miss Ruby Jensen, as chairman, and Miss Ida Johnson and Mrs. H. W. Cherry, was named to draft by-laws and constitution for the newly organized organ-ized club. Other matters were also taken up and discussed and some real work is to be planned for the coming summer months. The matter of embarking em-barking on a crusade against the fly in the city, it was intimated, may become a majojr activity'. With the Lions club and city officials and citizens joining forces this one feature feat-ure could be, and should be made one of the leading features, as the city, from a standpoint of filth and sani-taion, sani-taion, is far from the 100 per cent mark. In addition to other business it is announced that a membership drive will be staged and the date for this event has been set for May 20th. A luncheon has been planned for this date and professional and non-professional women will be asked to join the new club and aid in the good work that is to be carried out. On the membership day drive, at which time a splendid program will be given, Miss Ida Johnson was named as chairman, and she will be aided by Miss Laurel Elben and Mrs. Vada Titcomb. |
