Show Gonnisoo Organizes for National Game With the hopes of rejuvenating baseball, the great and only national game, in Gunnison f or the coming! season, an enthusiastic meeting of I several of the fans and citizens was held at the bank offices Friday n;ght of last week and an organization was effected that assures games for the coming summer. J. W. Jones, one of the old school, and who piloted many of the teams to success in years gone by, was named manager, and Floyd Beck was named as secretary-treasurer. A finance committee consisting consist-ing of Harold Halverson, Niel Soreji- j son and "Si" Kunz, will shortly outline out-line a plan that will be inaugurated1 to raise some funds for the purpose j of supplying a few suits and other necessary paraphernalia. j Five of the old players, and who won fame when the Southern Utah Baseball league was a real attraction in the sport world, are ready to "come j back" and get in the game. And, j too, there are a number of promising youngsters who are developing- splendid splen-did ability and it will be an easy matter mat-ter to assemble a winning- team within with-in the confines of Gunnison. Mt. Pleasant, Salina, Monroe, Rich-; field and Moroni are organizing teams and all will be ready to "take a dip" at the big and fascinating pastime! There will be no regular league, but games vill be scheduled at regular: intervals md in all liklihood the fans! will be able to witness some real . games as of old. |
