Show Sheepman Donates To Gunnison Scouts Gunnison troop 1, Hoy Scouts of America held the boards at the Casino Ca-sino Friday and Saturlay nights of last week, and incidentally a tidy sum j was realized from tin- two entertainments, entertain-ments, some ?02 being added to the exchecquer. A picture, "Men of Daring," Dar-ing," was the screen showing, and jpioved exceptionally good. The b'g feature, however, was the auctioning of a thoroughbred rambouillet ram, a gift to the Gunnison troop by Claud Michaelson, the well known breeder of registerel sheep. The auctioning of the sheep took place between the two shows Friday night, and County Commissioner June Mctcalf proved a capable seller. When bids were started, start-ed, they gradually mounted upward and continued until the ?33 point was i reached, and Hugh Willardson, the ' highest bidder won the prize. Encouraged by the success of the show and the sale of the sheep donated by Mr. Michaelson, the troopsters are now planning elaborate quarters wherein they can meet and 'conduct their business meetings and exercises. Through the generosity of ' the mayor and the city council pcr-! pcr-! mission has been granted the scouts to use the upper rooms of the city ; hall. This part will undergo renovating, reno-vating, cleaned and the necessary j paraphernalia will be purchased for I use in the scout work. This act is I highly commendable on the part of ! the city officials, as heretofore no i real quarters have been provided. |
