Show Japanese Farmer Buried Thursday Funeral services for Tom Koshi-kawa, Koshi-kawa, the Japanese farmer who died Wednesday of last week, were held from the residence at the Overfelt farm last Thursday. Services were conducted by Bishop E. L. Swalberg. A quartet sang several selections and Bishop Swalberg and Bishop Hansen spoke briefly. All of Koshiwaka's countrymen of the valley attended the services and the love for the deceased was shown by the beautiful floral offerings made. The deceased was , 61 years of age. He came to America when 40 years old and during his time here, followed the vocation of farming farm-ing and beet raising. In 1923 he located in the Gunnison Valley, locating lo-cating on the Sarah Martin farm. Later he and associates leased the Overfelt farm and were planning on doing much in the way of raising j beets during the coming season. Six weeks ago he was taken sick j and lingered until death relieved his suffering. He was well thought of by all who knew him and regarded I as an exemplary citizen by his coun-I coun-I trymen. |
