Show Mrs. Paul Strceper and son, of Salt Lake are here and are the guests of Mrs. Streeper's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Jensen. They will be here for! two weeks. j Mrs. B. A. Golden Jensen, who has been employed, em-ployed, is here for a brief visit to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jensen. Jen-sen. After a short visit here Golden will leave for Fhoenix' Ariz., for an indefinite stay. Mrs. William Perkins, accompanied by her daughters, Misses Ruth and Shirley, came in from Provo last Saturday. Sat-urday. They will be the guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Perkins for ten days or two weeks. Otto Loahmalder of Salt Lake, was the week-end guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C W. Perkins. He returned re-turned north Sunday. Misses Beryl Bown and Berdella Edwards entertained a few of their friends at a theatre party Tuesday evening and following a "canteloupe, bust" and dancing were enjoyed at the Kozi Kafe. Mrs. J. W. Edwards left last Sunday Sun-day for Hiawatha for an extended visit with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Edwards and children came in from Hiawatha last Thursday and were the guests of rela tives Pioneer day. Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Arnold, Earl Arnold, are back from Salt Lake. Mrs. Arnold and children have been at the capitol city for the past ten days as the guests of relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Julius Johnson, Miss Rosie Johnson, and Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Woods spent last Sunday at Fishlake. Alma Fredrickson, -who has been appointed to teach the sixth grade in the Washington .public school, re turned last Thursday from Salt Lake Mr. Fredrickson completed a six weeks course at the summer school at the University just lately. He was accompanied to the city by Mrs. Frdrickson and the latter was the guest at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Crawford. L ' LOCAL ITEMS OF INTEREST Mrs. J. B. Roper delightfully entertained en-tertained for Mrs. S. O. Peterson who was visiting here form Drummond, i Idaho, Monday afternoon of this week Progressive "500" was the feature of the afternoon and in the contest the honors were awarded to Mrs Clarance Madsen and Mrs. H. Miss Vada Peterson left for Salt Lake Tuesday morning where she will take the examination to qualify for hair dressing. She expects to be absent a week or ten days. i Miss Laurel Elben, who has been the guest at the home of Miss Vada Peterson for two weeks, returned to 1 Sunday. After a day spent these she will continue her journey to her home at Ellensburg, Wash. Mrs. Saunders , spent some iseven weeks here as the guests of her parents Mr. and Mrs. William Metcalf, and while here she was the honor guest at many social functions. She was accompanied to the capital city by Mr. and Mrs. William' Metcalf and Junius Mtcalf. Mr. and Mrs. A V.Sanderson and children left for a week's vacation trip last Saturday evening. They will visit Price and other Carbon county towns and expect to return the last of this week. Misses Addie and Roberta Childs have gone to Salt Lake where they will spend a week or more asthe guests of relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Fred H. Jones, Miss Gwendolyn Jones and Mrs. Lenno Rosenvall came back Sunday evening from Salt Lake City. They motored north Thursday of last week. ,. Mrs. Roy Edwards was visiting with friends and relatives at Goshen last week. She returned hone Saturday evening. Misses Rosilla and Mary Lowry ner nomc at balina Monday afternoon. E. L. Fjelsted of Provo, is in the city for a month's vacation; to visit relatives. Mr. Fjeldsted has been ap pointed principal of one of the schools at the Garden city and is taking a rest here before starting on his duties.- ..' . y' Elmer Kearns left Sujulay mori-! ing for the north after .(pending two weeks here visiting with his family.
